Condition - Bloating/Wind

Food Allergy and Intolerance - food allergy is a constant reaction to a trigger food, either immediate or long-term, which can be life threatening (typical foods include nuts, seafood, etc). Symptoms are usually severe and include: itching, inflammation, swelling, rash, vomiting and anaphylactic shock. It is quite rare.
Food intolerance is a slower, long-term, non-life threatening reaction, which manifests from a few hours up to several days; this makes identification of the trigger food more difficult. Symptoms can include: bloating/wind, headache, migraine, fatigue, depression/anxiety, sinusitis, glue ear, puffy eyes, dark circles under the eyes, eczema, asthma, constipation, diarrhoea, joint pain, water retention, hyperactivity, mouth ulcers and IBS. See also Immunity.
IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is a bowel function disorder. Food intolerances, imbalanced gut flora, parasites, stress and alcohol can contribute. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, slimy stools, bloating, wind, nausea, headache and depression. See also Immunity.
Leaky Gut occurs when gaps appear in the gut wall through which undigested food pieces, toxins, yeast eg. Candida albicans, bacteria and viruses can enter the body. This triggers the immune system to react, causing: bloating/wind, headache, fatigue, abdominal pain, IBS, diarrhoea, constipation and mood swings.
