Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis are inflammatory diseases. In Crohn’s, primarily the end of the small intestine is inflamed and the entire bowel thickness can be affected. Ulcerative Colitis occurs anywhere along the colon and affects the lining only. Poor nutrient absorption is common to both diseases.
