While not strictly an amino acid, glucosamine is an ‘amino-sugar’. It forms part of connective tissue, such as ligaments, tendons, cartilage and synovial fluid (the watery fluid between joints). It helps regenerate and maintain smooth, healthy, flexible connective tissue, thereby supporting healthy joint function and mobility. Glucosamine is also important for healthy muscles, skin, eyes, blood vessels and heart valves. Glucosamine hydrochloride is a purer form of glucosamine containing 81% compared to about 60% in the sulphate form . It also does not contain salt.
