Nutrient - Vitamin B2

Riboflavin helps break down protein, fat and carbohydrate for energy. It works closely with iron, enhances vitamin B6 metabolism and regenerates antioxidant ‘glutathione’. Vitamin B2 is important for healthy immune and nervous systems, for brain function and for healthy blood, lips, tongue, eyes and skin. Extra may help during exercise, weight-loss, stress, pregnancy, breastfeeding, ageing, illness and growth spurts and with a high protein diet. Antibiotics, alcohol, the Pill and HRT deplete B2 levels and interfere with its absorption and use. Riboflavin deficiency shows similar physical signs to vitamin B6 deficiency.
