Half of the body’s Magnesium is found in bone. Magnesium works with phosphorous, calcium and vitamin D to build and maintain strong, healthy bones. Calcium and vitamin D aid its absorption and use. Magnesium is important for healthy nerve function, blood pressure, heart and eyes. Deficiency contributes to muscle spasms. It is involved in muscle relaxation, and energy creation, storage and release. It helps balance mood and promote restful sleep. Magnesium works with calcium, sodium, and potassium for healthy blood vessel tone. Alcohol, the Pill, diuretics and stress deplete levels. Lithothamnion calcarea, which is fossilised seaweed, is an excellent natural source of magnesium.
