Boswellia is commonly known as ‘Indian Frankincense’, or ‘Salai guggal’ in Ayurvedic culture. The gum resin from this leafy tree contains active parts called ‘boswellic acids’, which are known to help with heat, swelling and redness in muscles and joints. Boswellic acids also promote healthy blood supply to joints and maintain blood vessel health in the joint area. Boswellia may help with healthy blood circulation and water retention in lower limbs.
