Golden-yellow Sunflowers are related to daisies. Their seeds are rich in the polyunsaturated oil, linoleic acid. They are a good source of protein, fibre, minerals; especially potassium, magnesium and phosphorous; and antioxidant vitamin E. Sunflower seeds help support healthy bowel movement and balanced cholesterol levels.
Sunflowers (Helianthus annus) have been grown in Europe since the 16th century. Unrefined, organic sunflower seed oil is high in linoleic acid (typically 68%). Applied to skin, sunflower seed oil helps moisturise and soften.
