Condition - Kidney Stones

Kidney Stones are made of mineral salts and generally form when urine is too alkaline or blood levels of the minerals are too high. Risk factors include a diet high in: sugar, refined carbohydrates, alcohol, coffee, animal protein, salt, saturated fat and fizzy drinks; and low in: fibre, potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6. Excessive intake of minerals that form the stone, particularly calcium, is also a risk factor. It is essential to reduce intake of risk minerals, as advised by a doctor, and increase water intake
