Nutrient - Calcium

Calcium is the body’s most abundant mineral – around 99% is stored in bone and teeth. It works with phosphorous, magnesium and vitamin D in building and maintaining strong, healthy bones. Magnesium and vitamin D aid calcium absorption and use. It is involved in digesting fat and protein, making energy, blood clotting, transmitting nerve impulses, muscle contraction and relaxation and nutrient absorption, especially B12. Calcium is important for healthy blood pressure and during pregnancy. Lithothamnion calcarea, which is fossilised seaweed, is an excellent natural source of calcium.
